Timber Ridge Golf Course was carved from a 1940's era tree nursery, Timber Ridge Golf Course is a Northern Michigan-style wetlands course, winding through wooded, hilly terrain. The tree lined fairways and very challenging. The greens are full of breaks, making them hard to read. The fairways contain several bunkers, and ponds and streams dot the course.
The club boasts hand-mown greens, which they claim keeps greens lush and true the entire golf season. In an effort to make the course more playable for novice golfers, all underbrush in many of the wooded areas has been replaced with Georgia pine straw.
Timber Ridge Golf Course measures 6,585 yards from the longest tees, plays to a par-72, and has a slope rating of 144 and a 73 USGA rating. Course was nice, but the greens were not in great shape for this time of the year. Staff on the course need to be better trained: from beverage cart person approaching while we were teeing off and leaving her gas-powered cart running while others were teeing off to maintenance staff paying little or no attention to players as they moved about the course or as players approaced areas where they were working.

Great afternoon outing on this rolling pine tree lined course. They have opened up the fairways from 20yrs ago, making it more playable and overall conditions. Tee to green are all top notch conditions with the greens really moving today. Even though the fairways are side-by-side, the many trees keep them very separate from stray shots. Very playable from the tips (6,620yds / 72.4/140) but the fairways still look narrower than they really appear, because of the trees. Shot 46/40 w/37putts as it was hard to get comfortable with the visuals on the front 9. Must play M-F with the senior rate at $43 from the normal $50 that still is a good price for this course.
